The CGC Test

Von Elite Dog Training wishes to prepare you for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and offer you the
opportunity to take the test on the final day of class.  There are many benefits to passing this test.
Not only have you accomplished a nationally recognized award from the American Kennel Club with your
dog, you may also benefit with your homeowner's insurance.  All dogs including mixed breeds may 
participate in the Canine Good Citizen program and there is no age limit.

What the test includes:

The CGC is composed of 10 tests:  Accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance
and grooming, out for a walk (walking on loose lead), walking through a crowd, sit and down on command
and staying in place, coming when called, reaction to another dog, reaction to distraction, and supervised 
separation.  We hope to prepare you and your dog with the skills and confidence to take the test.

Completing the CGC test can give you the peace of mind that your dog is a balanced, well trained dog
that you can take out and enjoy.
